Rep. Buddy Carter Launches Major Ad Campaign in Georgia Senate Race, Emphasizes Trump Endorsement

In a bold move to stand out in the crowded field of candidates, Georgia Republican Senate hopeful Buddy Carter unveiled a high-stakes television ad on Wednesday. This initiative is part of a seven-figure investment aimed at boosting his visibility through statewide TV, streaming platforms, and direct mail.

Carter, who is serving his fifth term in Congress, is competing to dethrone incumbent Democratic Senator Jon Ossoff. His rivals include Congressman Mike Collins and Derek Dooley, a former college football coach endorsed by Republican Governor Brian Kemp.

The new ad positions Carter as a "trusted MAGA warrior," highlighting his commitment to conservative culture war issues. Notably, it features his support for banning transgender individuals from girls' sports and his alignment with former President Donald Trump on stringent immigration policies. The advertisement includes a clip from a Trump rally in Savannah in September 2024, where Trump praised Carter as a "warrior... great guy."

Additionally, the campaign spotlights Carter's legislative achievements, such as the passage of the Laken Riley Act. Named after a University of Georgia student tragically killed by a migrant, this law represents a significant victory credited to Carter’s legislative efforts, although Collins was its lead sponsor.

The upcoming Senate race in Georgia is shaping up to be one of the most costly and fiercely contested battles in the 2025 midterm elections. With Georgia being a crucial state that Trump managed to secure last year, the stakes are exceptionally high for both parties.

Recent polling from the TechnoMetrica Institute of Policy and Politics indicates a tight race for the GOP nomination. Collins leads with 27 percent, followed by Carter at 20 percent, and Dooley at 8 percent. However, with nearly 40 percent of Republican voters still undecided, the campaign trail is far from predictable.

As the political landscape heats up, Carter’s substantial ad buy reflects his strategic push to consolidate support among Georgia's Republican base by leveraging his pro-Trump stance and legislative track record. Whether this will be enough to secure the GOP nomination and challenge Ossoff remains to be seen.
