In a shocking revelation from newly released emails, the late Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender, claimed that former President Donald Trump was aware of the underage girls Epstein had been trafficking. These allegations surfaced Wednesday morning when Democrats on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee released a portion of Epstein's correspondence obtained from his estate.
The emails are part of extensive materials provided by Epstein’s estate to congressional investigators, who have been examining Epstein's dealings and connections for several months. Amidst their investigation, the Oversight panel has also issued subpoenas to the Department of Justice seeking records concerning its handling of Epstein’s case, suggesting a potential cover-up as the administration has delivered few non-public documents.
In one of the more startling emails dated back to 2019, addressed to journalist Michael Wolff, Epstein explicitly mentioned Trump’s prior knowledge of the situation. "Trump said he asked me to resign, never a member ever,” Epstein wrote, referencing his departure from Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club. He added, “[O]f course he knew about the girls as he asked Ghislaine to stop.” Ghislaine Maxwell, referenced in the email, is a known associate of Epstein and was recently convicted for her role in the trafficking operation.
Further stirring controversy, an email from 2011 to Maxwell described Trump as a “dog that hasn’t barked,” implying Trump kept silent about Epstein’s activities. It also mentioned that a victim, whose name has been redacted for legal reasons, had spent extensive time with Trump.
Despite these allegations, there has been no evidence to date directly linking Trump to participating in Epstein's trafficking operations. Trump has consistently denied any wrongdoing connected to the Epstein scandal and affirmed that his association with Epstein ended several years ago.
As of now, the White House has not responded to requests for comment regarding the latest developments in this ongoing saga. This story continues to unfold as more documents are reviewed and more information comes to light, promising further insights into the connections and potential complicity of high-profile individuals in Epstein’s crimes.
