House Majority PAC Shatters Fundraising Records, Eyes 2026 Midterm Victories

House Democrats' primary super PAC, House Majority PAC, along with its nonprofit affiliate, has announced an unprecedented fundraising achievement as it prepares for the 2026 midterm elections. In a record-breaking surge, the organizations collectively amassed $121 million in 2025, marking the highest amount raised in a non-election year since the PAC's inception in 2011.

The fundraising momentum particularly gained pace in the latter half of 2025, where they secured $81 million—double the figure from the first six months. This significant increase is largely attributed to the donors' renewed confidence following the Democrats' strong performance in recent off-year elections.

House Majority PAC President Mike Smith expressed enthusiasm about the results. "As Democrats continue to expand the map and build momentum for the 2026 midterms, we could not be more excited to announce our record-breaking fundraising in 2025,” he stated. “We look forward to taking back the House in 2026."

To put these figures into perspective, during the entire 2018 election cycle, the House Majority PAC raised $72 million. The introduction of an affiliated nonprofit in 2019 has seemingly bolstered their fundraising capabilities, with a combined total of $76 million raised in 2023.

Aligned closely with the House Democratic leadership, House Majority PAC has consistently been a major outside spender in House races. Although fundraising is a crucial aspect of election campaigning, it is not the sole determinant of success, especially in a political landscape that is being reshaped by aggressive redistricting across the country.

Despite their fundraising success, it remains unclear whether Democrats will maintain a financial edge over their Republican counterparts in terms of outside spending. The Congressional Leadership Fund, the super PAC affiliated with Republican House leadership, has yet to release its fundraising totals for the same period. During the first half of 2025, however, they had outpaced their Democratic rivals, raising $60 million compared to $40 million.

As the House Majority PAC gears up for the next election cycle, they did not disclose how much cash they currently have on hand. The organization is scheduled to file its next financial disclosure on January 31. However, details from its nonprofit affiliate will not be available until late 2026, keeping some cards close to the chest as the political strategy unfolds.

This fundraising milestone sets the stage for what could be a fiercely contested battle for control of the House in the 2026 midterms, with both parties strategizing to leverage their financial and political resources in a rapidly evolving electoral landscape.
